I know I am still just a baby learning to walk again!
I did great in the hospital. Therapists couldn't believe it. Discharged on day 2.
OP therapy won't start till a week after so have been working it at home.
My surgery went well. Only in surgery 1.5 hours. My incision looks great and I have very little bruising so far. Some swelling but have been icing. Still using the walker of course. It is difficult to believe I will ever get to a cane as my knee still wants to buckle at times. Have cut back on the pain meds, but I am sure when therapy begins I may have to get back to them more regularly for a bit.
You don't appreciate a normal gait till you can't do it. I sometimes feel like I am carrying a log around with me.

Hang on to those meds, you'll want them when therapy begins. I am 11 days out with PT at home. I am also re learning to walk and stand unaided. The pain is less often but can be really intense after exercising and stretching. Hoping it will all be worth it soon.
