I am 9 weeks out from my TKR. I thought, for sure, I was the only one suffering from pain, stiffness, depression... I expected to be back to new by, at most, 8 weeks! Boy was I in for a surprise!! My leg feels like I am walking with an ACE bandage wrapped tightly around my knee. I have to brace myself get myself up stairs, if I take them more than 1 at a time. It is very debilitating emotionally. No one close to me has ever had a TKR, so no one can empathize with me having to go from being active to sitting on my butt because it hurts to walk after a day at work. I also will eventually need to have my other knee done. I think I will wait until I have to crawl to get around!! Thank you all for sharing your stories so I don't feel like I am the only one who is taking forever to recover. Best of luck to you all!

As an aside, my husband had bilateral TKR about 10 years ago and he rebounded like it was nothing. He has a high pain threshold I guess. But while he sympathizes, he does not really understand.
