Can’t walk nor sleep without pain

Endured painful knee for long enough. The crunch came when I suddenly couldn’t walk. MRI showed a cartilage operation 40 years ago had removed it all! Severe arthritis. I am excited at the idea of my partial knee replacement in one month, but also scared. Especially because of covid. I’ve decided to get fit- do ‘prehab’ exercises, and I swim outside most days. I’d like to hear how people have coped post-op. if they did, or did not do knee exercises beforehand. I remember my first knee op. when I was 17. It was so very painful. Back then one was not given any information, the surgeon seemed to sew it together with knitting needles, and the idea of prehab exercises would have been laughable. I was in hospital for 2 weeks, and only lifted my leg off the bed on day 10. Determined to do better this time. Off I go to the exercise bike?
